Worms Head Coastal Walk
Rhossili, Gower
DESCRIPTION:
Join us for a guided tour of the Worms Head on the Gower. The name is derived from the Norse word 'wyrm' meaning sea serpent, which describes the shape of the headland; split into 3 sections connected by rocky scrambles and natural land bridges. It is 8km to the outer head and back and we allow 4.5 hours for the trip.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
The Worms head sits at the most westerly aspect of the Gower. Due to its remoteness it is a fantastic place to explore, and hosts some unique wildlife. We allow enough time to deviate off to make the most of the nature highlights. Depending on the time of year it is possible to see harbour porpoise, common dolphins, fulmars, peregrines, seals and of course a few Gower Ponies. There are some great historical landmarks and interesting geological features that are there all year round.
Although the walk is relatively short, the are some sections which require good balance and coordination. At times we may suggest using your hands to scramble over some of the steeper terrain. Walking boots with ankle support are essential. We will be right there to support you over the tricky sections and choose the safest route.
INCLUDED:
An in depth information pack with useful details about the trip and a kit list.
A local guide who will accompany you from Rhossili National Trust car park across the causeway onto the Worms Head and back again. They are there to point out all the amazing highlights and make sure you have a safe and memorable day out.

The Black Mountain Guided Hill Walking
Llanddeusant
DESCRIPTION:
Explore the highest tops of the Black Mountain area including Fan Brycheiniog (802 meters) and the clear waters of Llyn y Fan Fach. The route passes a fresh water fish farm, forgotten quarries and sheepfolds, waterfalls, cairns and a bothy which is useful to us on a rainy day. This is an area with lots of myths and legends attached to its landmarks.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
The full route which takes in both Lyn y Fan Fach and Llyn y Fan Fawr is 15km but can be shortened to 11km if the group decides to skip Llyn y Fan Fawr on the day. Whilst there is a coachload of people on top of Pen Y Fan this area gets a lot less traffic and the views are arguably better. On a clear day you can see across the Bristol channel to the south, over the central Beacons to the east and the tops of the Preseli Hills to the west. Mountain weather is unpredictable and we will do our best to make good decisions based on the weather forecast. In some circumstances we may have to postpone a walk if we feel the conditions will have an overarching effect on the outcome of the day. Firm walking boots with heal support and a good set of waterproofs is essential.
INCLUDED:
An in depth information pack with useful details about the trip and a kit list.

Bushcraft Experience
Gower - various locations
*Please make a service inquiry for this service*
DESCRIPTION:
Join us for a day in the woods! Fire, food and interacting with nature. We like to do some seasonal foraging, green woodworking, shelter construction, flint knapping and exploring all the flora and fauna around us but its often hard to fit it all in. We will bring all the kit and its up to you to tell us which of those you are most keen to try. Its tends to be a very relaxing day out with a few taught skills, good chat and fodder.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Mud and sand are always abundant so best to bring some walking boots rather than your best pair of white crocs. Please bring a packed lunch. We like to cook something on the fire for everyone to try but its difficult to make this happen for lots of dietary requirements. We will have shelter out of the elements should it rain and facilities to make hot drinks.
INCLUDED:
An in depth information pack with useful details about the experience and a kit list.

Pen Y Fan
Brecon - Pont ar Daf car park
DESCRIPTION:
The tallest of the mountains in the Brecon Beacons at (886m) Pen Y Fan boasts some of the most impressive views across the beacons and south wales. On a clear day you will be able to see right across the Bristol channel. Our route includes Corn Du just a few meter shy of Pen Y Fan and is 8km in total. Groups typically take between 3 and 5 hours with plenty of stops to take in the scenery and landmarks.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Mountain weather is unpredictable and we will do our best to make good decisions based on the weather forecast. In some circumstances we may have to postpone a walk if we feel the conditions will have an overarching effect on the outcome of the day. On a calm summers day this walk can feel easy and on a blustery winter day it is certainly challenging. Firm walking boots with heal support and a good set of waterproofs are essential.

Our route is 7.5km with 326m of elevation which usually takes around 4-5 hours.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
A slow paced day out with lots of stops to take in the nature around us. Depending on the time we meet it may be worth bringing a packed lunch to eat next to one of the falls and some trail snacks. Gower foraging experience
Gower - Cwm Ivy, Whiteford sand car park
DESCRIPTION:
Meet us at the Whiteford sand car park in Cwm Ivy overlooking the Loughor Estuary. Where we go will depends on the time of year and tide times on the day. We will spend the morning looking at some of our local flora and fauna, picking a few things if the opportunity arises. In the afternoon we like to set up camp in the Burrows and cook some of our foraged goods. After this we will see what else we can find on our journey back.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Depending on where we go, we could walk anywhere between 4 and 8km very slowly. The terrain is very easy but we will be exposed to the elements so its worth having a read of the kit list to make sure you bring what you need to stay comfortable. There are endless opportunities foraging and we will have a few books with us for when we come across something out of the ordinary. It is also a fantastic location for birds set between the salt marshes and pine forest. We have seen tree creepers, gold crests, woodpeckers, little ringed plover, little stints and egrets.
